Ramos projecting own ambitions using GMA as frontwoman; Cha cha being used as recycling means for corrupt and illegitimate president

"No way and no how."

This was the empathatic declaration of Anakpawis Representative Crispin Beltran regarding the recommendation of former president Fidel V. Ramos that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is eligible to become prime minister if the government shifts to parliamentary form. He said that Ramos' recommendation was "insane."

"The entire nation is in an uproar against Mrs. Arroyo and her corrupt and illegitimate presidency; people are demanding her immediate removal from power. She should even be declared unfit for any public office or any form of government service given the gravity of her crimes against the Filipino people. Does Ramos think that the government is a recycling center where garbage can be transformed and re-utilized?"

Beltran said that Ramos was clealy enjoying his role as new puppet master and mentor to Pres. Arroyo. "He's using Mrs. Arroyo as frontwoman for his relentless political ambitions. The Charter Change scheme is actually the original brainchild of Ramos, and he has never let go of his dream to become the most powerful and influential official in the country by hook or by crook. His projections and plans for Mrs. Arroyo are actually expressions of what he wants for himself, nevermind his denials that he doesn't want to become prime minister himself and remain a private citizen. For a private citizen, he's very powerful as he's the one already calling the shots in Malacanang," he said.

The veteran labor leader said that the Cha cha proposal should be shot clear out of the sky as it was nothing but a diversionary tactic to salvage the Arroyo presidency. "Changing the government system to parliamentary form is in no way the solution to the country's problems. The same traditional politicians greedy for economic power and political influence are the ones eager to take the lead in their proposed new government. They're also peddling the same brand of destructive economic reforms and anti-national foreign policies that have driven the Filipino to their knees. Charter Change as dreamed up by the same cast of characters in the current corrupt administration is a nightmare the Filipino people should not be subjected to.#
