Garcia treated just like an ordinary GSIS member when loaning? He would
rather borrow than steal? Another loan document shows otherwise  Rep.
Beltran
ÂIs he trying to make us laugh? Garcia got his loan approved in just two days.
Ordinary government employees say it takes them at least one week even when
their papers are complete. This was Anakpawis Representative Crispin
BeltranÂs reaction to GarciaÂs statement that he was treated like an ordinary
GSIS member when he filed for a P11-million housing loan under the GSIS Bahay
Ko Program.
Apart from this, Kapisanan ng mga Manggagawa sa GSIS (KMG) was able to secure a
GSIS document showing another questionable loan by Garcia. This loan, amounting
P2,141,874.00, has a monthly amortization of P56,414.07. However, the same
document reveals Garcia paying only the amount of P43,123.06 per month.
Out of the P169,242.21 supposed partial payment for the first three months,
Garcia has paid only P129,369.18. If Garcia would Ârather borrow than steal as
he said, where, then, has the P39,873.03 gone?
ÂBecause he is the President and General Manager of GSIS does not warrant him
to pay less than the monthly amortization. If he was being Âtreated like an
ordinary GSIS member, then how could he pay less than the monthly
amortization?Â
The labor leader turned lawmaker said he is filing a resolution calling on the
House Committees on Good Government and Government Enterprises and
Privatization to jointly investigate GarciaÂs questionable loans.
ÂJust like any other controversy concerning government employees, particularly
of the GSIS, this one is something the House of Representatives and Malacañang
should never take for granted. My office has been receiving calls from
government employees from different regions demanding Winston GarciaÂs removal
from his post ###
